Embroidered Patches: Priced by Stitch Count
Embroidery pricing is simple math: Time on Machine.
A machine head can only run so fast (about 1,000 stitches per minute). If your design takes 30 minutes to stitch, it costs more than a design that takes 5 minutes.
Understanding “Percentage of Coverage” (50% vs. 100%)
50% Coverage: We stitch the text and the border. The background is just the colored twill fabric. This is faster and cheaper.
100% Coverage: We stitch everything. The needle buries the fabric under a wall of thread. It looks premium and stiff, but it doubles the run time. That doubles your cost.
Why Size Matters (The Stitch Formula)
A 3-inch patch might have 5,000 stitches. A 12-inch back patch for a biker vest might have 150,000 stitches. That back patch ties up my machine for hours. That’s why large patches cost significantly more.

PVC & Rubber Patches: The Mold Fee Explained
Let’s address the elephant in the room. PVC quotes always look high on the first order.
The One-Time CNC Setup Fee
We can’t just hit “print” on rubber. We have to mill a physical block of aluminum or steel to shape your design. That CNC work costs $50.
The Good News: You only pay this once. When you come back next year for a re-order, the mold will be sitting on my shelf. Your unit price drops drastically.
2D vs. 3D Pricing differences
2D (Flat Layers): Cheaper. Easier to cut the metal.
3D (Sculpted): More expensive. We have to round the edges of the mold to create that domed, life-like effect.

Woven Patches Pricing
Pricing is driven by loom setup time. This is the volume choice for bulk orders.
Why is small quantity expensive?
It’s about the setup. We have to thread a master loom with thousands of vertical (warp) and horizontal (weft) threads. This takes hours of manual labor, whether we run 10 patches or 5,000.
The Math: On a small order, you pay for that setup. On a bulk production run, that cost vanishes into the unit price.
